A parade of Schutterijen in Limburg

Schutterij “St. Hubertus'

The Schutterij “St. Hubertus” from the village of Ubachsberg, 7 kilometres south of Heerlen, marches past. Behind the flag carrier the “King and Queen”, honorary positions held for a year, and the troops, getting a warm applause from people lining the street in the town of Meerssen - the venue of a yearly “Schuttersfeest”, a festival where the traditions of the citizen militia of old are celebrated.
