Aboriginal Ceremonies Central Australia - Ngajakula

Ceremonial headdress

Wearing an elaborate headdress, built up on his head and decorated with “wamurlu” a vegetable down partly coloured with red ochre and glued on the body, this man dances with a “kurdiji”, wooden shield painted with the “Kurrakurra” dreaming design relevant to his clan during the final stages of a “Ngajakula” increase ceremony.
