Gorcums Museum

The Gorcums Museum, the city museum of Gorinchem, a collection on the history of the town, works by several notable seventeenth-century painters and and a collection of modern art. Since 1995 it is located in the Grand Place, the former town hall of Gorinchem, dating from 1860, on the Grote Markt. The fountain in front of it, Wilhelmina fountain, was placed there in 1898 to celebrate the enthronement of Queen Wilhelmina. The statue her in her younger years in the role of Diana, the Greek goddess of hunting.
