A parade of Schutterijen in Limburg

“Marketensters”

“Marketensters”, women who traditionally provided food and drink to the men serving in the citizens militia of centuries ago, march past with their baskets of bread and vats of beer in a parade of 60 “Schutterijen” in the town of Meerssen, near Maastricht.
