De Hantumermolen

The brick base and thatched smock of De Hantumermolen, a restored windmill built in 1880 by millwright G. R. van Wierum from the village of Jannum (Janum in Dutch). It is just outside the Frisian village of Hantum and was built for a group of five owners, whose names are inscribed on the commemorative plaque, with the purpose of draining the 100 hectares Huntumerleeg.
