Tilya-Kori Madrasah

Mosque dome and portal of the Tilya-Kori Madrasah (1646–1660), meaning “Gilded” Madrasah, not only a residential college for students, but also playing the role of grand masjid (mosque), commissioned by Yalangtush Bakhodur, the 17th century ruler of Samarkand, on the Registan, the heart of the ancient city.
