Sangoma and iNyanga - traditional healers of Swaziland
Two learner “tangoma” during a ceremony where they communicate with “emaNdzawe” (ancestors who died in battle, long ago in Mozambique) at a sangoma training centre in Bethany homestead, near Matsapha. They wear red cloths, symbolising the blood of the “emaNdzawe”. Their hair is fashioned in ochred ringlets and they shake their heads to the beat of drums.
