The statue of Galdan Boshigt (1644-1697), the ruler of the Züüngar (Oirat or Western Mongols, also called Dzungar), a successful military commander who briefly ruled over Samarkand and Bukhara; on the town square of Khovd. In the background the Aimgiin Zakhirgaa building.
