British Central African Protectorate, 1891

British Central African Protectorate, 1891

The British Central Africa Protectorate was proclaimed over the whole area of present-day Malawi in 1891. Its flag was, as was common at the time, a British Blue Ensign with a disk on the fly, diagonally striped orange-white-black, overlain by a branched tree with red fruits on each branch near the trunk.
