Grave of Haxhi Zeka

The grave of Haxhi Zeka in the cemetery in front of the 15th century Bajrakli mosque in the bazaar of Peja. Haxhi Mulla Zeka was an Albanian national leader, a member of the League of Prizren. In 1899 he formed and headed the League of Peja, another organisation seeking autonomy for Albania within the Ottoman Empire. Zeka was assassinated by a Serbian agent in 1902 with the backing of the Ottoman authorities.
