Gjakova, in western Kosovo

Cemetery, Hadum mosque

The cemetery near the late 16th century Hadum mosque stands in the heart of the old town of Gjakova. It is unique since it was built as a single entity with the mosque, library and school together. During the war in 1999 the library was completely destroyed with its 2,000 religious texts, and the mosque was badly damaged by mortar attacks.
