Nicosia, Capital of the Republic of Cyprus

In Hadjigeorgakis Kornesios Mansion

One of the beautiful wood-carved ceiling panels in the Archontiko (mansion) of Hadjigeorgakis Kornesios, a dragoman (interpreter and translator) who lived here between 1793 and 1808. It is the best example of late 18th century Ottoman urban architecture that survives in old Nicosia.
