Lefkoşa, the Turkish part of Nicosia

Arab Ahmet Mosque, North Nicosia

The ablutions fountain in the courtyard of the Arab Ahmet Mosque (Arabahmet Camii) in North Nicosia, built in the late 16th century and named after a commander of the 1571 Ottoman army. It was renovated in 1845 and the only mosque in Cyprus to exhibit a typical Turkish dome, an example of the classical Ottoman architecture.
