Larnaca, on the south-east coast of Cyprus
A bust on Larnaca Promenade of Zenon (352-255 BCE), the famous stoic philosopher Zeno of Kition (Citium) who hailed from this city. He laid the foundations of Stoic school of Philosophy and was one of the first to segregate Philosophy into physics, logic and ethics. It is said he began his stoic teaching after losing everything he had in a shipwreck. Kition was a city-kingdom on the southern coast of Cyprus, in present-day Larnaca; it was established in the 13th century BCE.
