Aboriginal Ceremonies of Central Australia - Jardiwanpa
A man of the Jakamarra subsection dances with a “kurdiji”, a wooden shield painted with “Snake dreaming” design relevant to his clan and the song cycle followed during a “Jardiwanpa” ceremony in Lajamanu. The same design is painted on his chest. Women with “kuturu” fighting sticks are dancing behind him.
