Aboriginal Ceremonies of Central Australia - Jardiwanpa

“Snake dreaming” design

Two Jakamarra men dance with a “kurdiji”, wooden shield painted with “Snake dreaming” design relevant to their clan and the song cycle followed during a “Jardiwanpa” ceremony in Lajamanu. The same design (including wallaby tracks) is painted on their backs.
