Getting bushberries

Boys from Borroloola, south of the Gulf of Carpentaria, collect “bikiki”, small green plums; they throw a rock at the tree, shouting “buj buj buj”, and only ripe berries that fall on the ground may be collected: the fruits belong to Stone Dreaming, associated with thunder and it is believed that if they are not collected this way, violent thunder storms may result.
