Democratic Republic of Afghanistan 1978

In 27 April 1978 “progressive officials” under the command of Abdul Qadir committed a coup d'état and took power under the form of a revolutionary Military Council. Three days later the military surrendered power to the People's Democratic Party (communist) directed by Nur Muhammad Taraki. There was no change of the flag, although discussions started about it and the previous flag, without the emblem, was used.
