Cultural displays in the Emirates' Museums

Teaching the Qur'an

A display of boys being taught at “Katatib” by a religious man known as “Al Muttawa” in his own private quarters. Education was limited to reading the Holy Qur'an, writing, arithmetic and Arabic calligraphy. This is in the Al Ahmadiya School, now a museum in Deira; it was established by Sheikh Mohamed Bin Ahmad Bin Damouk in 1912.
