Statue of Michiel de Ruyter, Vlissingen

The statue on the Keizersbolwerk in Vlissingen of Michiel Adriaenszoon de Ruyter (1607 – 1676), one of the most skilled admirals in Dutch history, most famous for his role in the Anglo-Dutch Wars. He fought the English and French and scored several victories against them. The monument was established in 1847.
