The Frisian Wadden Islands

West-Terschelling

Arriving in the port of West-Terschelling on the largest Frisian island of Terschelling (Skylge in the Frisian language). The lighthouse, named “Brandaris” can be seen from the Frisian mainland when the weather is clear. The first lighthouse with that name was built in 1323, but was destroyed in 1570; the current tower dates from 1594.
