Along the Vondellaan

The corner of Croesestraat and Vondellaan where the Primary School used to be, now occupied by a tall building of the Open Universiteit Nederland, an institution for distance learning for higher education at university level; at the end of the Vondellaan were Laboratories for Organic Chemistry of the Rijksuniversiteit (State University), built in the mid-sixties but torn down when the faculty moved to new premises in De Uithof, east of the city, during the seventies and eighties.
