Flying the flag

The “Raadhuis”, the City Hall of Franeker (Frjentsjer) was built from 1591-'94. The exterior was restored in 1887-'90 and the interior in 1955. It flies the Frisian flag, featuring blue and white diagonal stripes and red “pompeblêden”, white water lily pads.
