Hunebed D16

Hunebed D16, a dolmen, a type of single-chamber megalithic tomb, a few hundred metres north of the nature reserve of Kampsheide, Balloo, just east of Assen. Hunebeds are burial monuments made of enormous boulders, that were built by the Funnel Beaker People who lived here between 3400 and 2850 BCE.
