Saba 1985

Saba 1985

The flag of Saba was designed by an 18-year-old Saban named Edmond Daniel Johnson and adopted on 6 December 1985. It has two equal red triangles at the top, two similar blue triangles at the bottom and a white diamond field, reaching to all sides of the flag, in the centre. A five-pointed yellow star in the centre represents Saba; its colour symbolises Saba’s wealth of natural beauty and hope for a happy feature. The colours represent the ties with the Netherlands; red also stands for unity, courage and decisiveness; white for peace, friendship, purity and rest; and blue for the sea and heaven.
