Kokand, in the western Fergana Valley

Dusk, Abdulla Nabiev Maydoni

Dusk at the fountain on Abdulla Nabiev Maydoni, a square along Istiqlol (Independence) Avenue in Kokand. The square is named after one of the first members of the Turkiston Komsomol, killed in 1925 at the age of 20 while fighting against the basmachi, the Soviet term for those who fought against the Bolsheviks in Central Asia during that time.
