Karakalpak Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, 1937

On 5 December 1936, the Karakalpak ASSR became part of the Uzbek SSR. The flag was adapted accordingly, approved and officially adopted on 29 December 1937: on a red field appeared in the upper hoist, in gold letters, “Uzbek SSR” in the Uzbek language with under it, in letters of a smaller size, the inscription “Kara-Kalpak ASSR” in the Karakalpak language.
