Administering

A candidate “sangoma”, traditional healer, at the start of her “Kuphotfulwa” or graduation ceremony in Bethany, LaMabuza's homestead near Matsapha. LaMabuza is making small cuts in the joints of the initiate with a razor blade, after which she rubs “umutsi”, traditional medicine, in the cuts.
