Attacking the patient

Initiates, just “reborn” as fully qualified tangoma, perform a “kufemba” ritual, in which they “smell out” evil spirit bodies that may reside in a person's body. They brush the people with a “sizinga”, a special brush with which they brush the person and then smell it; when they find it they attack the person and must be hauled off, as with this man. They then “sneeze” the spirit body out.
