An iNtfwasa graduation Ceremony in 1972 - Day 2

Beheading chicken

LaMabuza, the senior “sangoma” who has been coaching the initiates, cuts off the head of a chicken and collects its blood in a bowl; this will be drunk by the initiates. She is flanked by two other senior “tangoma”, traditional healers or diviners, wearing head bands of kauri shells.
