Swaziland Independence Celebrations in 1971

The King waiting

His Majesty King Sobhuza II waiting for his car after the celebrations of Swaziland's third year of Independence. The red “ligwalagwala” feathers in his hair are a symbol of royalty and he carries a shield and battle axe. A Swazi policeman pushes a feather, that was falling out, back in his hair.
