Swaziland Independence Celebrations in 1971

Princesses in stadium

The King's daughters, (“Bantfwabenkosi”) climb to their seats in Somhlolo Stadium in Lobamba for the festivities on Independence Day. The unmarried daughters wear short “indlamu” bead skirts and the red “ligwalagwala” (lourie) feathers, reserved for royalty, in their hair.
