The iNcwala or First Fruits Ceremony in 1970

Bantfwabenkosi dance

The “bantfwabenkosi”, the young daughters of the King, in their “indlamu” short bead skirts, dance in front of the warrior regiments in the “sibaya”, the cattle byre. Their crown of feathers of the “ligwalagwala”, the purple-crested lourie, identifies them as royalty.
