The iNcwala or First Fruits Ceremony in 1970

iNcwala lencane

The “emabutfo”, traditional Swazi regiments, dance during the iNcwala lencane (Little iNcwala) at the start of the sacred iNcwala or First Fruits ceremony in the “sibaya”, the cattle byre, in Lobamba, the Royal capital. In the background the Mdzimba mountains, where Swazi kings are buried.
