The uMhlanga or Reed Dance

Marching with reed

Girls carry, singing and dancing as they go, their bundles of reed in the “uMhlanga” or Reed Dance ceremony in Lobamba. These will be used to repair the windbreaks around the traditional huts in the Queen Mother's residence.
