Drying shed, Peperpot

The drying shed of Peperpot, a former coffee plantation in the district Commewijne, on the right bank of the river Suriname. The beginning of Peperpot must have been somewhere between 1651 and 1660. In 1702 cultivation of cocoa was started and coffee around 1720.
