Seven moai, Ahu Nao-Nao

The seven moai on Ahu Nao-Nao at Anakena on the north coast of Rapa Nui, see from the back, showing carvings. Two are deteriorated and four wear the “pukao”, the hat-like structures or topknots. These were all carved from a very light-red volcanic scoria, which was quarried from a single source at Puna Pau.
