Moai, partially buried, Rano Raraku

Moai, partially buried to their shoulders on the slopes of Rano Raraku crater, the quarry where they were carved. They are distinctive in that their eyes were not hollowed out, they do not have “pukao” headgear and they were not cast down in the island's civil wars.
