Lalitpur (Patan), a rich Royal city

Bhimsen Mandir, Patan Durbar Square

Bhimsen Mandir, an unusual tree-story pagoda dedicated to Bhimsen, the famously strong god of trade among the Newars; of uncertain age, it was rebuilt in 1682 by Shrinivas Malla, who ruled from 1661 until 1685. It is just north of the Vishwanath Temple, on the northern end of Patan Durbar Square.
