Royal Arms of King Gyanendra, 2001

Royal Arms of King Gyanendra, 2001

The Royal Arms of the Shah dynasty for King Gyanendra, the last king of Nepal who ruled between 2001 until the abolition of the monarchy on 27 December 2007. It displays a Magen David-type star and a vertical sword, royal symbols, standing respectively for knowledge and strength. Two Royal Standards flank this, the flagpoles ending in tridents and above it two crossed “Kukris”, the knives associated with the Gurkhas. At the top is the royal headdress. At the bottom is a depiction of the Himalaya mountains and a scroll with a motto in Sanskrit.
