Bhaktapur, Nepal’s best-preserved old city

Bhaktapur Durbar Square

The Golden Gate, the 55 Window Palace, the column with its statue of King Bhupatindra Malla and the Nṛtya vatsalā temple (or Lohan Dega “stone temple”), on the eastern side of Bhaktapur Durbar Square. The temple was built in 1672 by King Jagat Prakash Malla; it was destroyed in the 2015 earthquake, but rebuilt.
