Bhaktapur, Nepal’s best-preserved old city

Dattatraya Temple

The 15th century Dattatreya Temple, a three-storey pagoda, was built during the reign of King Yaksha Malla (1428 – 1482). At the entrance are two large sculptures of the Jaiput wrestlers, Jaimala and Pata, and on a column in front is a gilded metal statue of Garuda, the bird-like divinity.
