Statue of King Mindon

A statue of King Mindon (1853-1878) who founded the last royal capital city of Mandalay. in the reconstructed palace. The palace ceased to be a royal residence and seat of government on 28 November 1885 when, during the Third Anglo-Burmese War, British troops entered the palace and captured the royal family.
