New Mon State Party

The Mon people were the first to settle in Lower Myanmar and have been striving for self-determination ever since the Union of Burma was formed. The New Mon State Party was formed in 1962, with its military arm, the Mon National Liberation Front. Its flag is red with a flying Golden Hintha (Drake) and a blue five-pointed star at the upper hoist.
