A song performed by Erdene Zuu, named after the temple complex that covers the old Mongolian capital of Karakorum, now Kharkhorin, Övörkhangai province in central Mongolia. They sing, accompanying themselves on “Yatga”, a traditional string instrument and “khöömi” or “throat singing”, the Mongolian (and Tuvan) overtone singing where two or more distinct pitches are sung at the same time, producing an almost whistling sound.
