Sükhbaatar aimag

Sükhbaatar aimag

Sükhbaatar province, in the east of the country, was named after independence hero Damdin Sükhbaatar; its capital is Baruun-Urt. The flag is unusual, a horizontal red - light blue - red tricolour with three tails on the fly, made from two cut-outs of a circle and triangle. In the upper stripe towards the fly is the provincial emblem, a dark blue square with a winged horse, surrounded by a wide red border with “Sükhbaatar aimag” in both Cyrillic capitals and old Mongolian script, on a flower-like ornamental border.
