Mongolian People’s Republic, 1941

On 1 November 1941, after the introduction of the Cyrillic script, the traditional Mongolian script was removed from the national emblem and replaced with the abbreviation “BNMAU” - Bügd Nairamdakh Mongol Ard Uls, People’s Republic of Mongolia. The emblem was further unchanged: a horseman racing through a landscape towards the rising sun - its golden rays meaning prosperity. Pictures of livestock stand for animal husbandry.
