Japanese monument, Woleai

A Japanese monument commemorating soldiers killed in the Second World War on Falalop island, Woleai atoll. The Japanese garrison of 6,500 was reduced to 1,650, by starvation and disease, in 1945 when the survivors were evacuated by the Americans.
