Peja, Kosovo's second largest City

Haxhi Zeka Kulla

Haxhi Zeka Kulla, a traditional stone house, named after Haxhi Zeka (1832 – 1902), an Albanian nationalist leader, a member of the League of Prizren and the League of Peja, organisations seeking autonomy for Albania within the Ottoman Empire. The plaque on the wall commemorates his leadership of the League of Peja. Zeka was assassinated by a Serbian agent in 1902 with the backing of the Ottoman authorities.
