Martyrs monument

A memorial in Deçani (Dečani), honouring the “Dëshmorët e Kombit” (Martyrs of the Nation), the fighters of the UÇK, Kosovo Liberation Army, who died during the war with the Serbs which eventually led to Kosovo's independence. During the 1998–1999 conflict, Deçani was one of the strongholds of the KLA and subsequently suffered a large amount of infrastructure destruction by the Serbian military and paramilitary forces.
